Set in a quiet corner of Venice, the Jewish Ghetto offers an opportunity to understand the Venetian Republic’s tolerance and exploitation of foreign people.

En route, you will see on of the most tranquil areas of town, known for its long, wide canals draped with the linens of the day’s wash. Proceeding through Campo Dei Mori, your guide will share with you some of the sculptural and architectural treasures of the city.

In this tour you will see from outside the main monuments, palaces and churches in one of the ancient but richest area of the town.

This walk will end in the famous Jewish Ghetto, the first in europe. “Ghetto” is in fact a venetian word meaning “foundry” because the jewish quarter was builded replacing a foundry. This name now means “Jewish District” all over the world. Here (not included) you can join a visit of the Jewish Museum and the Synagogues with specialized guides.
